If you plan on staying for the long term, we would suggest rank 1 refine. It's a pain, but you will have no regrets later on with ranged attack. =) Also, if you are looking to level(
mabinogi money) fast, focus on either ranged attack + dex skills + optional basic magic skill (ice/lightning bolt), or focus only on an adv magic skill (thunder/ice spar) + a basic magic skill.
Sadly, going too "hybrid" in the game early makes leveling(Mabinogi powerleveling) slow. You will get ap much faster having good archery with rank 1 refine/weaving/instrument playing, or having rank 1 thunder/lightning, than you would get having rank 9 of everything. But if you just want to have fun, no harm trying everything out first. You will just level a bit slower. Have a good time in Mabinogi.
